Golf Accessories To Help You Travel

If you are a die-hard golfer, you no doubt enjoy traveling to golf courses all around the world to practice your skills in places that are a little less familiar than the golf courses you usually spend your time at. When you travel to other parts of the country (or even other parts of the world) to play golf, you may have a hard time getting everything there easily and intact, and keeping everything sane for the whole time you are there. If you buy a few golf accessories beforehand, you can make things a lot less stressful on yourself. Here I will outline some of the things that will make your trip much easier.

First, you should purchase some sort of carrying case for your golf clubs. Having your expensive clubs smashed is never pleasant, and it is even worse when you planned your entire week around them. If you are flying to your destination then this tip will be particularly true. Buy a carrying case that will be strong enough and stiff enough to resist any crushing power that might attempt to smash your golf clubs. You can buy these strong bags at some golf stores, or online. Make sure that the one you buy is reinforced with some sort of metal material that will prevent it from caving in. You should put the case to the test before you rely on it to protect your clubs.

Another great way to keep your clubs safe is to purchase an ID tag to keep with your clubs. Include all of your contact information on it, as well as your cell phone number or the number of the hotel you are staying at. If you somehow lose your clubs in transit, it is a good idea to have them marked in a way that someone could return them to you if they were so inclined. There are still quite a few good Samaritans out there, so don’t give up all hope if something gets lost. You can make this tag yourself out of an index card, or you can buy an official one from a store. Fill it out with the most current information possible.

You should also include a few of the accessories that you usually take for granted. Include extra tees and golf balls, just in case you lose your main ones for some reason, or you can’t find the kinds you like at your destination. Small items like that have a particular tendency to get lost in luggage, so having extra will ensure that you have some once you get there. Spread them across a few different bags so that you always have a backup. It may seem extreme to do this, but you would be surprised at how frustrating it can be to have no golf balls or tees when you get to a new area.

If you are worried about losing your bag along the way, there is an option you might not have considered. There are many overnight shipping services created particularly for golfers that do not trust the airlines. One of the most popular ones, “ShipGolf”, will deliver your clubs to your hotel the very next morning. Of course they come with insurance so that if even the shipping service loses them you will be compensated. These can be a good choice if you have particularly expensive clubs.

Golf trips are a lot like the actual game that is played. The whole thing might be going according to plan, but then right near the end a really horrible shot ends up disrupting your mental flow. After that, it is almost impossible to get back in to line. This same thing applies to a golf trip overall Therefore it is good to be prepared for anything that might occur. As long as you are prepared, an undesirable event won’t cause the rest of your trip to be ruined.

Golf Vacation Resorts: A Golfer’s Dream!

Nowadays, those who really love the sport of golf and want to be able to play it whenever they go on vacation have an intriguing opportunity in front of them. The attractiveness of golf vacation resorts to these people can’t be overstated. Some of these destinations combine a world-class golf course with a beautiful resort experience. There’s really very little downside, for the most part.

The beauty of a golf vacation resort is that there are many of them all over the world. The ancestral home of the game of golf, Scotland, offers a quality golfing experience on some of the most famous courses in the golfing world. An Ireland golf vacation could be a real treat! But for true high-class resorts and high-class golfing, there aren’t many better places to find them combined than in North America. Some of the resorts are paradises of golf and resort living, for a fact.

Golfers who want to golf on courses that play host to some of the top tournaments in the U.S., including the Open, can head to the Monterey Peninsula and the Pebble Beach Links courses. They’re rated the number one public courses in the country, at present. And the quality of accommodations is as good as the quality of the courses.

The level of class and style at many of the hotels at these golf vacation resorts is also top-notch. For example, North Carolina’s Pinehurst Resort has an array of lodging that’s the equal of any four-star hotels in the country. Plus, it’s the current 2008 winner of the Best Golf Resort accolade from Travel and Leisure magazine. The hotels and the courses meet or exceed every expectation.

Golf vacation resorts as a real getaway is a vacation idea that’s really hard to top. They combine the best of golf and golfing activities with the best of hotel and resort living into one beautiful package. Most avid golf enthusiasts pine for a chance to play on some of the major-league, PGA-certified courses at many of these resorts, and now they finally have an opportunity to do so.

Golf vacation packages can easily be found and booked online, although most places offer a book-by-phone option for peace of mind. So, what are you waiting for? Go have the golf vacation of a lifetime!

Improve Your Golf Swing and Lower Your Scores

Improve Your Golf Swing and Lower Your Scores

Mastering the game of golf is probably one of the most difficult things for an amateur to accomplish. Unlike other sports, many people start playing golf after their high school and college years. They might first learn the sport in their twenties or thirties when it is harder to learn new things and break old habits. The key to enjoying the game of golf is the Golf Swing. Perfecting this part of the game is something even the best golfers in the world are constantly chasing. There are many ways to improve, but most people don’t have a lot of time to go to the driving range in addition to playing 18 holes. Following a few simple tips can get you started.

Using the swail system, it is clearly pointed out that one of the main mistakes amateurs make is leading their downswing with their arms rather than with their hips. You might be thinking what is swail? It is a system that can help anyone improve their Golf Swing. Amateurs can spend hours and hours at the driving range working on their swing, but if they’re not doing to right drills or working on the right parts of their swing, then it is time wasted. This system will teach you the right way to practice to become a better golfer.

what is swail

Hear what prominent swing authorities
have to say:

Swail is the most comprehensive, accurate, work about the golf swing….!

Paul Runyan (two-time PGA Champion, winner of 29 tour events, one of twelve members of the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame)
Nothing has ever come as close as Swail does to identifying the absolute critical key moves to enable a person of any age, size, sex, whatever, to hit a golf ball better. Swail is absolutely phenomenal. It is a discovery!

KEN BOWDEN (former Editor, Golf Digest; Jack Nicklaus ghost for four decades, wrote classic Golf My Way; John Jacob’s co-author)
Swail has a lot going for it but, above all, Swail addresses in a unique and valid way the very thing golfers are wondering: Why don’t I get it ?

Avoiding Golf Injury

For many, common golf injuries are not uncommon and accepted as part of the risk of playing the game. People who know the risks about how these injuries take place are less likely to get them in the first place. Always try to make sure you are in good physical shape before you play. However if you take the time to ensure that you are in good physical shape you will greatly reduce the number of injuries that you are prone to have.

For many golfers, back injuries are quite common because they are caused by repeated walking and swinging. Use proper conditioning to get your back muscles into shape but also utilize back rubs, ice packs, and back braces to help prevent injury. Backs need plenty of rest following a game of strenuous golf activity. You should get plenty before continuing on with your activities. Chiropractic alignments or the occasional massage are good additional steps if you play a lot of back to back golf.

In addition, another common golf injury is tennis elbow, which is more traditionally called golfer’s elbow. Golfer’s elbow, known mostly to golfers who play a lot of golf suddenly, is not exactly the same as tennis elbow, however and there are a number of key differences. Tennis elbow affects the outside of the upper arm, while golfer’s elbow does so to the inner arm. Truthfully, no decent advice exists on how to prevent this injury entirely, though it does happen more often to people who begin playing large quantities of the game all of the sudden. People who play a single game a month and then suddenly enter a long lasting tournament, for example, could develop tennis, or golfer’s elbow.

Another common golf injury – probably unsurprisingly – affects the shoulders. Shoulders are affected directly by golfers who swing their clubs repeatedly during their play and doing so causes pressure on the shoulders. Take a body that is tired or worn out and you have a prime recipe for an injury. Take good care of your body and warm up your shoulder muscles before a game of golf as this will help prevent injury.

Finally, another common golf injury is carpal tunnel syndrome, which happens to many people who play golf, as they frequently have repetitive movement. For example, if you play numerous games of golf in a row for several months straight you could be looking at a potential injury in progress. A simple brace will usually correct an otherwise serious injury if the injury is caught early. Others have far worse cases of this dreadful disease, losing all ability to move their hands and these unlucky people usually require surgery. Sadly, carpal tunnel syndrome can escape detection frequently because it gives no serious signs until it appears and causes distress. A helpful tip is to invest in a wrist pain whenever you begin feeling wrist discomfort.

The eager amateur may be tempted to buy every golf training aid on the shelves.

For every flaw in your swing, there is a golf swing trainer that can correct it. For these, there are obvious leading role models such as golfing guru David Leadbetter and world number one Tiger Woods, who has taken physical fitness and mental fortitude to a new level since he first burst on to the professional scene in 1996.

It is merely a case of identifying your problem and then going after a golf swing trainer that best caters to your particular problem.

The science of a golf training aid is pretty simple. All it does is make you feel what a good golf shot is like by weighting your muscles and aligning your posture into the correct positions.

With constant practice, it becomes second nature, thereby enhancing your swing. In this respect one of the most the most popular golf swing trainer devices is the Golf Swing Jacket.

Used by a number of US PGA Tour pros while on the practice tee, the golf swing jacket is hailed as the ultimate golf swing trainer and is a pioneer for similar training aids.

The jacket can be used for full golf shots and gives the golfer a feel for a good shot, enabling him or her to coach the body into assuming the stance, tempo and swing plane of an ideal golf swing.

This golf swing trainer is for golfers of all levels, and the ability to make use of the jacket “on-site” is the reason it is so popular.

Not all golf swing trainers are so obvious. One subtle product is the Dynamics Swing Glove Trainer, an innovative glove that also helps you to improve your swing through feel.

The mechanics is amazingly simple with a guide that swivels on an aluminum-based instrument and steers your wrists through your swing.

It is meant to repair flaws by “feel” so that by repetition, your body, especially your wrists, will eventually adjust to the correct swing motion.

Another excellent golf swing trainer is SyncaSwing’s The Ultimate Swing Analyzer, which is a lightweight device with a microcomputer that grips on to your golf club and provides instant information on swing speed, swing timing, ball impact and club release, which tells you through numbers how early you have released the club in a swing.

The 8 Board Golf Swing Trainer is also an ideal gadget to help train your body to get into the feel of a proper swing.

As the name suggests, the device resembles the number “8″ and golfers are required to place one foot on each circle while practicing their swing, helping to improve balance, stance and rotation.

There are many more swing trainer aids, each of them boasting their own merits. They have worked for the pros and golfing gurus also use them to teach their students. Don’t get left behind.

Improve Your Golf Swing with Golf Training Aids

Golfers of all ages and levels of experience are increasingly turning to golf training aids to help them reduce their handicaps.

While pros have the sheer talent and coaching backup to drive straight and putt consistently, mere mortals like us resort to a variety of modern and scientifically proven golf training aids to slice strokes off our scorecards.

Amateurs and beginners may feel overwhelmed by the sheer variety of golf training aids on the market.

There seems to be a different golf training aid for every aspect of your game, no matter how minute, whether it is a Tempotimer for your swing or Footjoy socks to keep your feet comfortable as you undertake 18 arduous holes.

However, it’s not as difficult as it might appear. The right golf training aid in the hands of an inspired golfer is one of the most powerful tool imaginable. That’s not a problem, if you can afford it and you have the time to make use of your equipment.

A more practical solution would be to search your game itself to decide on what golf training aid would benefit you.

If you are hitting your drives straight but your chipping is poor, you may want to invest in a Chip N Pitch or a Chip Mate Net to increase your accuracy.

However, if your whole swinging game, whether off the tee or fairway needs urgent attention, you could opt for broader golf training aids such as the 8 Board, which can help you optimize your swing plane to suit your stroke.

Many golf training aids are endorsed by the professionals themselves and it would do the amateur no harm to take their lead.

South African Ernie Els, a three-time Major champion, promotes the Tempotimer, which wraps around your golf club to enhance your swing.

Fijian Vijay Singh, the former US Masters champion, will rave about the Speed Stik, a device that aims to quicken your swing and help you to hit the ball farther.

Apart from the playing professionals, there are also the teaching pros, who are probably among the greatest authorities on golf training aids because they are the ones who use these devices regularly as part of their work.

The Medicus Dual Hinge Combow Driver, which is great for mending your slice, Eyeline Putting Laser and Path Pro are a few of a vast number of golf training aids that have been endorsed by the P.G.A. Professionals, a group of teaching pros who search for the best golf training aids and use them to teach their students.

Golf trainings aids don’t always take the form of equipment. Fitness programs, mental strength, motivational speeches and other “off-course” methods of improving your body and mind can be considered as golf training aids.

For these, there are obvious leading role models such as golfing guru David Leadbetter and world number one Tiger Woods, who has taken physical fitness and mental fortitude to a new level since he first burst on to the professional scene in 1996.

Whatever works best for you, what can’t be denied is that the golf training aids industry is worth billions of dollars.

The Internet has also become a popular medium to market these products. The Web has even allowed amateur inventors to sell their own home-remedy golf training aids and compete on an equal footing with the big companies.

Online consumers are latching on to this limitless marketplace as websites selling putting devices, swing-enhancers and even gloves that improve your grip take up more and more bandwidth.

Wherever there is a need to lower handicaps, there is always going to be a need for golf training aids. So, if you want to score lower, there’s plenty out there for you to choose from.

Does the Nintendo Wii Help Your Golf?

The Wii console caused alot of speculation when it first launched as people wanted to see what it was about. But as time goes on the Nintendo Wii starts to cater for a lot more people then it did before. Wii have now got into the fitness arena releasing a fitness board and games such as virtual golf, so this leads to the question, of which one do you prefer to play? Let's have a look at the advantages of both.

Real Life
Real life golf can be very rewarding, you get to have fresh air, walk around the green and socialise with people and some days enjoy the lovely sunshine. You could also enjoy a bite to eat on the course and take in all of the lovely wildlife. If you enjoy playing professionally then you will also enjoy the competitive streak that comes with it.

Wii
The Wii is a powerful resource and there are huge benefits of playing sports and golf games on it. The Wii makes you play great games on your own and improves your overall skill level. Aswell as this you can also play in the colder months when most golf greens close. You can also play with friends as enjoyment.

Whichever one you choose is best for you, you should look at the advantages of both. Personally I play both of the games, simply because of the fact they are both played in different scenarios and can both benefit you in hugely different ways. You should never choose one over the other as no matter how much technology progresses there will always be a reason to go out and get some fitness.
